Two online tools that I have found super useful in making the best use of natural light are suncalc.net for calculating the position of the sun, and www.golden-hour.com for knowing when that short critical period of perfect lighting will occur.
On a late afternoon bus ride back to Prague I was fiddling with the golden hour calculator and realized I would be getting back shortly before golden hour. Some fortunate timing and familiarity with PIT helped me make it to the top of Petřín tower just in time. The weather was unfortunately not the best, but nothing a little Photoshop can't fix.
